In 2015, the Dillingen-Wertingen district clinics wanted to secure their storage requirements for the next 5 years and therefore purchase a central storage platform for all internal specialist applications. In addition, a uniform management, an optimal price/performance ratio, simple scalability during operation and conceptual integration into the existing vSphere environment were to be ensured.
In cooperation with partner Feha Büro-Technik from Günzburg, Germany, Starline was able to realize this mammoth project in a live environment with Inforrent hardware. The consistent setup ensured a high-performance implementation in the hospital.

With Infortrend and SSD Caching to success
The Kliniken Dillingen-Wertingen gGmbH therefore decided to replace the existing central storage infrastructure. The consultants of opscon IT operations and consulting GmbH drew up a letter of award with the requirements and technical prerequisites to be fulfilled. The long-standing Starline partner Feha Büro-Technik from Günzburg, who had previously also worked as a service provider for the district clinics, was entrusted with the implementation.
Conclusion
As a result, Starline's Infortrend know-how enabled the handles to be migrated without any disruption to ongoing operations. The overall result was a significant improvement in the speed of clinical applications. Not least because of the fast SSDs and the excellent SSD caching from Infortrend.
Meanwhile, the conversion of the infrastructure to future-proof 16 Gbit/s Fibre Channel technology ensured high storage performance within the hospital networks.
