Data Mover from Archiware
Secure with the Data Mover for Archiware P5
The new Data Mover automatically offloads your archive content – either to disk, to the cloud, or to durable LTO tapes.
The “P5 Archive” module of the Archiware P5 data management suite undergoes a functional expansion in the latest edition, Version 7.1: The so-called Data Mover provides additional redundancy and also creates space in the primary archive.
The P5 Data Mover is available from now on as an extension of the P5 Archive Module. It provides policy-based moving and copying of already archived data between tape, cloud and disk storage. This HSM-like extension thus provides flexibility for any storage strategy: data can be easily migrated or copied between different storage tiers.
The Data Mover executes the migration plan periodically and selects the data according to a predefined age. In this way, it automatically copies or moves data from hot storage to cold storage – or in any other desired direction.
Additional functions in P5 version 7.1
To increase data security as well as further facilitate data transfer and access, Archiware has added additional features to Data Management Suite P5.
- Multi-factor authentication as an additional layer of security
The MFA provides an additional layer of security for the Archiware P5 login. The authentication code is sent to the user by e-mail.
- UNC paths
UNC path support allows easy access to source and destination storage on the network.
- Media Hash List checksum manifest
The MHL checksum manifest of LTFS archived data ensures that the source data has been stored and restored without modification.
The Backup2Go module is only available in maintenance mode for 5 years from P5 version 7.1.
