Areca driver installation for ARC-8050 Thunderbolt systems
How to install Thunderbolt drivers under macOS
Driver installation under older macOS versions (Catalina and older)
- You must always install and activate the Thunderbolt driver from Areca on the MacBook, Mac mini, Mac Studio, Mac Pro or iMac. For older versions (macOS 10.14.x ~ 10.12.x) or Intel-only Macs, please select the macOS Mojave drivers.
- The latest Intel driver version 1.4.9 Mojave can be downloaded from this link. Alternatively, you can also download it from the Starline Mirror Link.
- Please also pay attention to system messages about third-party software in the Security & Privacy system settings (see below).
Download the latest driver for macOS from the download page.
Alternatively, you can find drivers for older (Catalina and older) and newer (BigSur and newer) in the Starline Cloud. If in doubt, refer to the version table above.
Select the type, model and operating system via the download page.
Open and install the downloaded package.
Click on "Accept" to accept the software license agreement.
Select "Continue" to install the software for all users.
Save the software under the default path of the macOS boot disk.
Enter the admin user account to install the drivers on your Mac.
Finally, the system will offer you a restart.
After logging in again, check in the system settings under "Privacy & Security" whether you need to activate the Areca software.
