HBA docking made easy
Host bus adapter for corporate networks
Fast converters: host bus adapters in a class of their own
With our fast HBAs, we offer you the most universal mediator between the worlds – and the fastest.
A host bus adapter (HBA) connects the internal PCI bus of a server to an external bus such as NVMe, SAS, SATA, USB, Ethernet, or Fibre Channel. The plug-in cards, also called host adapters, even offer a very low latency, which is only in the microsecond range. They are therefore a very effective and also cost-effective way of connecting peripheral devices or buses to the host.
Host bus adapter for every purpose
We have selected the most attractive HBAs for our portfolio in an internal benchmarking process. Our product managers not only attached great importance to a high data rate, but also to software equipment and driver supply. We can ensure the latter for all common operating systems such as Windows, Linux (Oracle, SUSE, Red Hat), Solaris, VMware, FreeBSD, CentOS, Citrix, FreeBSD, FreeNAS, Fedora or Debian.
We therefore supply from simple 4-port HBAs for docking JBODs or tape drives to fast-paced tri-mode models for the PCIe 4.0 bus that manage over 1000 drives, everything you want. The number of internal or external ports can be freely selected with up to 24 SAS or SATA connections. Especially for 1 to 2U server enclosures we also have many low-profile models in our range.
Your advantages with Starline:
- From Areca via ATTO to Broadcom/LSI
- Good driver equipment
- High transmission rates
- Good price-performance ratio
Host bus adapters of the ARC-1320 series form a low-cost 6 Gbit/s solution with improved reliability and performance at the same time. They are available with a variety of internal and external port configurations and broad driver support, especially for tiered storage architectures. For example, the SAS host adapters allow large-scale expansion of direct-attach storage (DAS) arrays via external ports, connecting up to 128 devices via their SFF-8088 connectors. This makes the 6 Gbps host adapters ideal for large capacity external storage RAID and non-RAID installations.

Through its internal and external port configurations, the ARC-1330 enables a variety of uses: For example, it controls up to 128 end devices via the SFF-8644 port via expander. This makes the host adapter ideal for external RAID storage and No-RAID enclosures alike. Thus, many applications and tiered storage solutions are only possible with it. As usual with Areca, the controllers are backwards compatible with existing and future RAID and expander solutions.
The slim ARC-1330 low-profile host bus adapter from Areca transports SAS data to docked DAS systems in an energy-efficient manner. It is the first choice when it comes to docking SAS components: after all, the HBA handles 12, 6 and 3 Gbit/s as well as SATA data rates of 6 and 3 Gbit/s (each per lane). It works via its PCI Express interface in every computer, workstation and server with Windows, Red Hat, Centos, SUSE, Ubuntu, XenServer, FreeBSD and macOS.

Our role
Rely on tested quality
Our employees are at your side: From the beginning you will receive detailed advice from personal contact persons. They are available as well as our technical support five days a week. We even offer a 24x7x4 service.
From service contracts and customs clearance to financing models – we offer everything from one source.
Starline offers excellent technical support. We have adept technicians who can be reached via mail, phone and even remote support. Our support hours: Weekdays at +49(0)7021-487 200 or email support@starline.de from 8:30am to 5:00pm (Friday until 4:30pm).
In addition, we offer special service contracts that guarantee that a technician will come to you within four hours at any time of the day or night.
The fastest option is Bring in Service (free of charge within the three-year warranty). You then bring the defective server or RAID system to us in Kirchheim and the fault is rectified here after a performance, function and health check. Incidentally, it is also possible to extend the warranty period to five years.
We will be happy to search for the relevant information for you. For complete systems, please send us the serial number of one of the installed drives (HDDs/SSDs) to info@starline.de and we will find out the number.
Please call +49 (0)7021-487 200 or e-mail support@starline.de from 8:30am to 5:00pm (Friday until 4:30 p.m.) on weekdays for the current system password.
We are proud of our large stock and like to shine with it. So if you have an older system that you need a spare part for, we are very likely to be able to supply it. We keep hardware in stock long after the warranty period has expired. This is because we also take care to provide support for as long as possible when selecting our products.
