The 1686 series controllers have an ARM A15 dual-core processor built in, which the developers created as a RAID on Chip (ROC) controller. With eight lanes on the PCIe bus Gen 4.0, the ARC-1686 models provide higher performance levels for SATA and NVMe SSDs. The ultra-fast, reliable and ultra-compact RAID controller family is said to enable enterprises to tackle high-speed data acquisition and processing.
The ARC-1686-4NOD model accommodates four SSDs, supporting RAID levels 0, 1 (Simple/Multi Mirroring), 10, Single Disk (Single/Dual/Triple) and JBOD.
