Flexible in copper or fibre
Using Fibre Channel in the corporate SAN
As made for SAN
You want to send gigabytes of data quickly in full duplex mode over long distances? No problem for a Fibre Channel architecture.
Data can be transmitted via Fibre Channel at 4, 8, 16 and 32 Gbit/s with a low command overhead – i.e. high user data rate – and in full duplex operation. In-house systems usually use copper and fiber optic cables. For distances above 30 meters, however, only fiber optic cables are used. (up to 100 kilometres).
Block-based FC supports point-to-point, arbitrated loop and switched fabric topologies. While with point-to-point each storage is connected to a server, with an arbitrated loop up to 126 individual FC clients are connected in a ring. However, only two devices can communicate with each other at the same time.
Fibre Channel in action
The greatest flexibility is guaranteed by the switched fabric design. Hubs and cascadable switches are used to network countless components. Within this system all players can be logically connected with each other.
To connect to the infrastructure, the administrator needs special PCIe host bus adapters, switches and cables, which we can of course provide.
Your advantages with Starline:

Our role
Rely on tested quality
Our employees are at your side: From the beginning you will receive detailed advice from personal contact persons. They are available as well as our technical support five days a week. We even offer a 24x7x4 service.
From service contracts and customs clearance to financing models – we offer everything from one source.
Starline mainly sells to resellers. That is, system houses that install these systems at a customer's premises or resell them.
Of course, we can also offer you each component separately. Among the ready-made systems, the offer starts with a 4-bay RAID system and a small server also equipped with four drives.
Counter question: How many do you need? We have NAS systems in all sizes and installation variants: Starting with a low-cost open source version up to a highly available twin system.
Starline supplies everything your heart desires in the server and storage sector. If you wish, we can also draw up a concept for integrating the new system into your existing network and supervise the installation. Detailed documentation after completion of the work is also part of our services.
But secure! This request is tailor-made for our Enterprise Storage Solutions department. Here, solutions are developed daily and tailored to special requests. Our experts will be happy to advise you. If necessary, in a three-way conference with your customer. If necessary, we can even organise a try&buy or a test set-up to find out what the problem is. You are also always welcome to attend one of our workshops. Here, the systems are presented in detail and you can ask questions at any time.
You always get the respective state of the art at Starline. Among the NVMe solutions, everything is available from the simple SSD in M.2 format to PCIe slot memory.
The available certifications are indicated on the respective product pages and in our data sheets. However, you can also view all Starline systems with certification independently in the VMware Compatibility Guide.
Can be organised. For a contribution towards costs, we will send you the targeted system for four weeks. This gives you time for a detailed test.
