With the storage loaders of the NEOs family, an entry into tape automation is possible. With their eight LTO slots, they already store several dozen terabytes of data as a backup and archiving solution. An LTO drive is installed in the 1U changer, which receives the tapes under software control. Storage loaders can be equipped with drives from the sixth generation (LTO-6) onwards as required. Fully equipped with LTO-8 cartridges, for example, it achieves a native capacity of 96 terabytes.
