The helium-filled Exos X16 enterprise hard drives are used wherever very high capacities are required, such as in cloud data centers or large scale-out applications. Digital environmental sensors, for example, ensure monitoring of optimal drive conditions in 24/7 operation and guarantee the best possible performance. Not least because of this, the X-Series achieves an MTBF of 2.5 million hours. With its 256 MB cache, the 16 TB model also operates quickly and effectively via the built-in 12 Gbit/s SAS interface.
