External RAID controllers for enterprises
For every purpose: External RAID controllers
If you are looking for a RAID solution that also offers externally accessible port options, our external RAID controllers are the right choice.
An external RAID controller gives you additional security: All you need to do is install it in a drive bay of a tower server. There is an upgrade option for SAS or SATA data carriers, as required, whereby both HDDs and SSDs are allowed. The top models can manage up to 512 data carriers via a SAS expander. A generously dimensioned cache also ensures performance up to the 12 Gbps fast SAS world.
Due to our wide range of models, we can offer you host variants for SAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, eSATA and USB 3.0. For demanding applications, we also have variants in our portfolio that offer both active/active and fail-over/fail-back functions in dual configuration.
An external RAID controller for secure servers
The controllers can be completely remotely administered via management ports that are also accessible from the outside. McRAID Storage Manager-a web-based interface-helps you monitor, receive messages, and configure systems.
Your advantages with Starline:
- Many host variants selectable
- Manage up to 512 drives
- Can be administered from outside
- Indepenence of operating systems
Areca's ARC-5066 RAID controller family includes models with 8, 12, 16, 24 SATA hard disk ports at 6.0 Gbps depending on storage needs. They support multiple host interfaces: eSATA III, iSCSI or USB 3.0The RAID subsystem provides uninterrupted reliability with a high degree of fault tolerance through RAID technology and advanced array management features. The iSCSI connections with four 1GbE ports deliver high throughput, advanced features, high availability and scalable capacities.

The ARC-8088 family supports a flexible interface configuration with 8x 12Gbit/s SAS, 2/4x 16Gbit/s FC or 2x 10 Gbit/s iSCSI ports. The system can also be expanded to 256 drives via 4x 12 Gbit/s SAS expansion ports. The external RAID controllers are thus an ideal solution for enterprise-class storage applications that require maximum flexibility in expansion. 12, 16 or 24 drives with 12 Gbit/s SAS or 6 Gbit/s SATA can be managed in model variants. More bring a redundant controller for fault-tolerant connections via separate host interfaces, while the Single model offers a single, end-to-end data path.

Your benefits
Starline quality
Sales: You can reach us weekdays from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm (Fr. 4:30 pm). Support: Assistance from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Fr. 4:30 pm)
You will receive skilled technical advice from Starline - by e-mail, telephone and, if required, via remote support.
We do not deliver solutions "off the shelf". All servers and storage systems designed by us are assembled by hand.
Our role
Rely on tested quality
Our employees are at your side: Right from the start you will receive detailed advice from personal contact persons. They are available as well as our technical support five days a week. We even offer a 24x7x4 service.
From service contracts and customs clearance to financing models – we offer everything from one source.
Starline mainly sells to resellers. That is, system houses that install these systems at a customer's premises or resell them.
Of course, we can also offer you each component separately. Among the ready-made systems, the offer starts with a 4-bay RAID system and a small server also equipped with four drives.
Counter question: How many do you need? We have NAS systems in all sizes and installation variants: Starting with a low-cost open source version up to a highly available twin system.
Starline supplies everything your heart desires in the server and storage sector. If you wish, we can also draw up a concept for integrating the new system into your existing network and supervise the installation. Detailed documentation after completion of the work is also part of our services.
But secure! This request is tailor-made for our Enterprise Storage Solutions department. Here, solutions are developed daily and tailored to special requests. Our experts will be happy to advise you. If necessary, in a three-way conference with your customer. If necessary, we can even organise a try&buy or a test set-up to find out what the problem is. You are also always welcome to attend one of our workshops. Here, the systems are presented in detail and you can ask questions at any time.
You always get the respective state of the art at Starline. Among the NVMe solutions, everything is available from the simple SSD in M.2 format to PCIe slot memory.
The available certifications are indicated on the respective product pages and in our data sheets. However, you can also view all Starline systems with certification independently in the VMware Compatibility Guide.
Can be organised. For a contribution towards costs, we will send you the targeted system for four weeks. This gives you time for a detailed test.
