Fast continuous operation: SAS RAID controller
Fast SAS RAID controllers for professionals
RAID king class for redundant security
Do you need a powerful SAS RAID controller for your storage ambitions? Our Storage Premier League offers you the highest performance currently available.
They are 12 Gigabit per second fast and are also at home on all important operating systems: The hand-picked SAS RAID controller from Starline. Their flexible options, however, allow all the variations that are required of a high-end controller in a data center to be used sensibly. There are half-height models for slim server housings, variants that handle different RAID levels (also combinations of these) and even bolides that can manage up to 512 drives.
SAS RAID controller exactly as required
Of course, depending on the manufacturer, we can offer you models with selectable internal and/or external SFF ports. Depending on the required PCIe format, they can be installed in various server motherboards. We can supply all the current generation.
The memory configuration of the professional data monitors can also be selected to suit the application. Finally, their cache speeds up the read/write operations considerably. Models with BBU support (Battery Backup Unit) offer additional security by preserving the cache data during power outages.
In the latest version, SAS RAID controllers even manage three different drive interfaces: SATA, SAS and NVMe. We also have these powerful tri-mode controllers in our program in different versions.
Your advantages with Starline:
- In any board size
- Up to 512 drives
- Wide range of driver equipment
- Up to 12 Gbps per SAS lane
SAS RAID controllers from Areca support the high-performance protection of up to four SAS/SATA drives at 6 Gbit/s. They have the same kernel as the proven external RAID controllers from the same company. They are ideally used as file servers, web servers, supercomputers, NAS, near-line backup, streaming, application servers (audio, video) and in security-relevant systems.
Areca's high-performance ARC-1216-4i 12 Gbit/s SAS RAID controllers support up to four internal SAS/SATA disks. The PCIe 3.0 host RAID controllers provide a cost-effective solution for up to four SAS peripherals. They are backward compatible with 6 Gbit/s and 3 Gbit/s SAS/SATA hard drives. With 1GB of onboard DDR3-1600 SDRAM, the ARC-12x6 series offsets lush cache memory that can be optionally protected from power failures via BBM.

The 1686 series controllers have an ARM A15 dual-core processor built in, which the developers created as a RAID on Chip (ROC) controller. With eight lanes on the PCIe bus Gen 4.0, the ARC-1686 models provide higher performance levels for SATA and NVMe SSDs.
The ultra-fast, reliable and ultra-compact RAID controller family is said to enable enterprises to tackle high-speed data acquisition and processing.
The low-profile ARC-1686-2NOD model fits into small server chassis while supporting RAID levels 0, 1, single disk (single/dual) and JBOD.

Your benefits
Starline quality
Sales: You can reach us weekdays from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm (Fr. 4:30 pm). Support: Assistance from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (Fr. 4:30 pm)
You will receive skilled technical advice from Starline - by e-mail, telephone and, if required, via remote support.
We do not deliver solutions "off the shelf". All servers and storage systems designed by us are assembled by hand.
Our role
Rely on tested quality
Our employees are at your side: Right from the start you will receive detailed advice from personal contact persons. They are available as well as our technical support five days a week. We even offer a 24x7x4 service.
From service contracts and customs clearance to financing models – we offer everything from one source.
Starline mainly sells to resellers. That is, system houses that install these systems at a customer's premises or resell them.
Of course, we can also offer you each component separately. Among the ready-made systems, the offer starts with a 4-bay RAID system and a small server also equipped with four drives.
Counter question: How many do you need? We have NAS systems in all sizes and installation variants: Starting with a low-cost open source version up to a highly available twin system.
Starline supplies everything your heart desires in the server and storage sector. If you wish, we can also draw up a concept for integrating the new system into your existing network and supervise the installation. Detailed documentation after completion of the work is also part of our services.
But secure! This request is tailor-made for our Enterprise Storage Solutions department. Here, solutions are developed daily and tailored to special requests. Our experts will be happy to advise you. If necessary, in a three-way conference with your customer. If necessary, we can even organise a try&buy or a test set-up to find out what the problem is. You are also always welcome to attend one of our workshops. Here, the systems are presented in detail and you can ask questions at any time.
You always get the respective state of the art at Starline. Among the NVMe solutions, everything is available from the simple SSD in M.2 format to PCIe slot memory.
The available certifications are indicated on the respective product pages and in our data sheets. However, you can also view all Starline systems with certification independently in the VMware Compatibility Guide.
Can be organised. For a contribution towards costs, we will send you the targeted system for four weeks. This gives you time for a detailed test.
