Attractively priced redundancy
SATA RAID controller for continuous operation
Affordable and enduring: SATA RAID controller
In our low-cost SATA line, smart spenders will find suitable models for expanding high-capacity storage applications.
With SATA RAID controllers, affordable solutions become possible that are just as well positioned in terms of security as they are for providing large capacities. We offer them for this purpose with two to 16 ports, which are internally equipped with SFF-8087 or SATA ports. Built into a server, our SATA RAID controllers manage both hard drives and SSDs.
The large caches can be protected by backup batteries, so that no write operation is lost in the event of an error. And to control them remotely, the larger models even have Ethernet ports that can be accessed externally. The administrator can use the controller’s own Web GUI to query its status and adjust the configuration.
Many fields of application for SATA RAID controllers
A wide range of drivers also ensures a wide range of applications: Versions are available for Windows, Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris as well as MacOS and VMware.
This makes them ideal for file servers, web servers, supercomputers, NAS, near-line backup, streaming, application servers (audio, video) and security-relevant systems such as NVR (Network Video Recording).
Your advantages with Starline:
- Inexpensive RAID controllers
- Many model variants
- High security
- Indepenence of operating systems
The entry-level Areca RAID controller is equipped with integrated storage processors that enable true hardware RAID. It has its own local RAID processor and a dedicated onboard cache to handle all RAID processing on a hardware basis.
The NVMe RAID adapter also has a powerful 1066 MHz memory processor, DDR3-1066 memory architecture and two PCIe 2.0 x1 M.2 ports (suitable for 2280 and 22110 SSDs). It therefore supports 512 MB DDR3-1066 SDRAM memory as standard. As a 2-port M.2 NVMe RAID solution for desktop servers and workstations, the ARC-1203-2N offers fully functional hardware RAID. The ability of hardware RAID controllers to recover an array in the event of a hard drive failure is far superior to that of software RAID controllers.
The ARC-1203-2i model from Areca provides two SATA III ports for the PCIe bus (2.0 x1). The RAID controller offers high performance and ensures maximum protection with Fault Tolerance in Data Mirroring. With its two 6 Gbps SATA ports, the budget RAID adapter forms an entry-level solution with RAID security for desktop and workstations as well as entry-level servers.
Areca's ARC-1203-4i supports up to four SATA III drives as a PCIe-to-SATA RAID controller. The ARC-1203 series can be easily integrated into a variety of hardware and software platforms. This makes the RAID controllers ideal for both cost-effective and high-performance network-attached storage (NAS) systems that require high security and performance.
Areca's ARC-1203-8i supports up to eight SATA III drives as a PCIe-to-SATA RAID controller. The ARC-1203 series can be easily integrated into a variety of hardware and software platforms. This makes the RAID controllers ideal for both cost-effective and high-performance network-attached storage (NAS) systems that require high security and performance.
ARC-1264il models couple 12 or 16 SATAIII peripherals to the 2.0 version of the PCIe bus as a host RAID controller. The 12/16 ports target high-availability and capacity-oriented applications that require large capacities such as security systems, surveillance, multimedia production, data capturing, mail servers, and database systems. They support direct-attached 12 or 16 internal 6 Gbps SATA ports via 3/4 SFF-8087 connectors.

Your benefits
Starline quality
Experienced and trained technicians do performance and functional checks and offer quick help in case of failure.
Starline maintains a high level of spare parts and is therefore able to supply spare parts long after the warranty period has expired.
Our long-standing business relationships prove our loyalty to customers and suppliers.
Our role
Rely on tested quality
Our employees are at your side: Right from the start you will receive detailed advice from personal contact persons. They are available as well as our technical support five days a week. We even offer a 24x7x4 service.
From service contracts and customs clearance to financing models – we offer everything from one source.
Starline mainly sells to resellers. That is, system houses that install these systems at a customer's premises or resell them.
Of course, we can also offer you each component separately. Among the ready-made systems, the offer starts with a 4-bay RAID system and a small server also equipped with four drives.
Counter question: How many do you need? We have NAS systems in all sizes and installation variants: Starting with a low-cost open source version up to a highly available twin system.
Starline supplies everything your heart desires in the server and storage sector. If you wish, we can also draw up a concept for integrating the new system into your existing network and supervise the installation. Detailed documentation after completion of the work is also part of our services.
But secure! This request is tailor-made for our Enterprise Storage Solutions department. Here, solutions are developed daily and tailored to special requests. Our experts will be happy to advise you. If necessary, in a three-way conference with your customer. If necessary, we can even organise a try&buy or a test set-up to find out what the problem is. You are also always welcome to attend one of our workshops. Here, the systems are presented in detail and you can ask questions at any time.
You always get the respective state of the art at Starline. Among the NVMe solutions, everything is available from the simple SSD in M.2 format to PCIe slot memory.
The available certifications are indicated on the respective product pages and in our data sheets. However, you can also view all Starline systems with certification independently in the VMware Compatibility Guide.
Can be organised. For a contribution towards costs, we will send you the targeted system for four weeks. This gives you time for a detailed test.
