Logfile Export: Areca

How to export your log for Areca systems and controllers.

Requirement

Your RAID system (including Thunderbolt) or RAID controller must be connected to the management port and have a valid IP address.

macOS

If the WebGUI of the Areca Controller is accessible via network or ArcHTTP, you can generate a support file with the following script (user requires admin rights):

Unpack this zip file on your desktop and open a terminal window:

Use cd Desktop to jump to the Desktop file directory in the terminal. You must then make the tool executable with sudo chmod +x ARC_Logs.command.

When prompted for a password, please ensure that you enter the password of your currently logged in administrator user.

The tool can now be started by double-clicking on ARC_Logs.command. Please enter the IP address and password of the controller. (Default: 0000)

The files are then saved by default as .tar in the user folder of the logged-in user. Please pack this file as a .zip file and send it with your support enquiry.

Windows

If the WebGUI of the Areca Controller is accessible via network or ArcHTTP, you can generate a support file with the following script:
Download export script here
Unzip the zip file and start Generate RAID Subsystem Reports.vbs. Now enter the IP address of the controller and the password (default: 0000).

Other operating systems

If you do not use Windows or macOS, you can access the WebGUI via browser by entering the respective IP address. Please then take screenshots of the following menu items from the WebGUI to supplement your support enquiry.
