How to export your log for Proxmox-based systems

Exporting logs:

1.    Log into the WebGUI of your proxmox server, and open the shell.

2.    With the following command the logs get saved to the root directory of your proxmox server.

tar -cvaf logs.tar.gz /var/log/*

3.    To transfer the file over to a windows host computer in the same network please open a powershell-window and enter the following command. With this command the log file gets saved to the Desktop of the host pc.

scp root@[Your IP address of the proxmox server]:~/logs.tar.gz .\Desktop\
